Henry Stuart, for a violent assault on Charles Downe [sic] Mayne, clerk, of Mr. Coleridge, Solicitor, Ottery, who had accompanied a bailiff to levy a distress on prisoner’s ‘goods, imprisoned 1 month, and to enter into sureties to keep the peace for 2 years.

The will with two Codicils of Charles Down Mayne late of Ridgway Cottage Ottery St Mary in the County of Devon Land Agent who died 23 March 1883 at Ridgway Cottage was proved at Exeter by Isabella Mayne of Ridgway Cottage widow the Relict and John George Greenslade of 6 Bedford – Circuse in the City of Exeter in the Exeter Probate Registry the Executors.
