Award for Tirpitz Raider
WARRANT OFFICER William Henry Pengelly, of 23, Fydell Crescent, Boston was informed last week that he had been awarded the D.F.C. The award took effect from May 10th. The only son of Mr. and Mrs’. W. T Pengelly, of Crown Hill, Plymouth, he was married in January of this year to Miss Margaret Mary Sharpe eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. J. T. B. Sharpe, 23, Fydell Crescent. Having served in the R.A.F. for upwards four years, he has been stationed at Woodhall most of the time, and has taken part in sixty-nine operational flights. He was in all three big attacks on the Tirpitz.
